One Chance One Chance

Hits home.

I have a wife and young daughter, and work in gov. public service (not medical research, but still has its similarities). This game hit home hard for me. I got the cure ending with the guy sitting on the bench with his daughter.

Unlike some other commenters, I thought the music and storytelling was perfect, and the wife's suicide scene truly numbing. Bringing vocals in at that point was a fantastic choice from an artistic perspective. The scene also hit me hard in particular because my wife's father committed suicide when she was a child, and she has struggled with severe depression in the past; because of this there has always been a horrifying worry of her suicide in the back of my mind, however unlikely. Having the character pick up his daughter and take her with him the following days was good, and having the player make the conscious decision whether or not to continue work when all hope seemed lost and forgo spending those last days focused on his daughter was powerful, especially on the final day when the daughter seemingly succumbed to the virus. On that note also, not seeing the her actually move after he finds the cure makes one wonder whether she actually did survive or if the father is sitting with her body at the end in grief. As a man who's job it is to regularly make sacrifices for public safety and security, it was like having an extension of myself in that character. The grief was conveyed perfectly.

Even though you presented this in a low-bit pixelated format, you were still able to effectively transfer the emotions of the character into the mind of the player. That, my friend, is art at its finest. Full marks 10/10

Endless War: Defense Endless War: Defense

This game is great!

The only thing keeping me from giving this game a perfect score is that there is little variance in the terrain, and what little there is doesn't affect game play. It would be awesome if there where terrain areas to set up ambushes and sniper spots, etc. (rocks, trees, creeks, etc.) It would be a large undertaking to do and work around I think, but it would make for a good sequel (Pacific theatre, maybe?)
Oh, and Minefields/minesweeping michanics would have been a good add too.

Defend Your Castle (Full) Defend Your Castle (Full)

I don't understand...

This deserves more, but there are no clear instructions on the game. once you save up enough to buy an upgrade, say, the arcary field, NOTHING happens. Ok, I have a flag on my tower now. in between enemies, click on it....nothing....right click? no.... cick on the # under the tower? no...right click it? no..... Some people seem to love this game. those are the ones that figure out how the frick to get the actual archers off the field and killing enemies. The rest feel that it's dull and repeditive. WE DOEN'T SEE WHAT TO DO NEXT! This game despiritly needs a clearer interface.
